Marchesa Satin-Faced Organza Dress

I picked up the February issue of the InStyle magazine last weekend and came across this magnificent piece. A satin-faced organza dress by Marchesa: absolutely beautiful! The architectural detail is truly fascinating. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the dress since I first saw it. At the Jersey Shore, one would probably find themselves wearing it at an exclusive black tie affair. It is no doubt red-carpet-wear.

Actress Rosamund Pike models it gracefully on the lower right. In small print on the lower left hand corner she says "You almost have to put yourself into character, with the right hair and makeup, for such a dress." Also note her reference to a china figurine in the larger print. Marchesa's collection has taken on a oriental feel for the Spring 2011 season. You can see more of this in this issue of the magazine. Bon Voyage

My inspiration for this outfit comes from the well photographed fleece sweater just getting off the private jet. This outfit is perfect for a traveling day. Whatever the destination, you'll arrive looking stylish but not overly done.

The shoes are my favorite piece. The large-flower print with ruched charmeuse fabric gives this pump a vintage feel yet so in for the Spring season.

FIRST POST: Stay Warm

Hello all! I'm very excited about this new blog as I'll get to experiment blogging about one of my passions: fashion. Considering it's quite cold here on the Jersey Shore and since I can't get this coming weekend's colder degrees out of my head (the 20s!), I figured I would start things off by displaying a comfortable yet warm assamble.

The Lamade Womens Reese Cardigan is 100% cashmere and sure to keep one warm anc cozy. The ruffles falling from the neck gives it a light layering effect which is fresh and stylish. Shown here in nude makes this piece very versatile. It could go with almost anything.

To complete today's outfit I have matched it with denim leggings. And what could be more comfortable and warmer than a pair of classic of UGG Australia Classic Short Boots ? Under the cardigan I would do either a tank or fitted tee in light blue, depending on how warm you'd like to be.
